Nicolas Granger-Taylor (Born 1963)Born in London,Nicolas Granger-Taylor studied at Kingston, Bristol and The Royal Academy Schools, London. Painting from life is what inspires him and his work primarily comprises portraits, female nudes, and still lifes. He works in oils, mainly using sable brushes, on fine linen canvas which is sometimes stretched over board. The paintings have been called "cabinet pictures" - relatively small in size, they are intimate pieces that are nonetheless powerful, charged from the artist's passion for his work, his relatedness with the subject and the hours of focussed observation.
His work has been exhibited at the Royal Academy, London, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
