Heidi Lampenius (Born 1977)Painter Heidi Lampenius' works exude physicality and presence, playing with the perception of the abstract and figurative. Subtle fragments of memory traces trigger feelings of places - the works function as a sort of archeology of memory. She searches for traces and signs that are not defined, but still strong enough for allowing memories or ideas of a place to appear. Lampenius thus investigates the memory and the image, the visual memory, that continues also after the initial stimulus. The poetic and powerful works are created with inks and acrylics on ungrounded canvas.
Heidi Lampenius (b. 1977) graduated from the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts in 2011. She paints in acrylics and ink. Her previous solo exhibition at Helsinki Contemporary was Supernatural in 2016, before which she exhibited at Galleria Huuto in 2015 and Sinne in 2014. In spring 2017, Lampenius participated in the Sensual Knowledge group exhibition at Landskrona Museum in Sweden and, in the autumn of 2018, in the group exhibition Kosketus (Touch) at Aine Art Museum. Lampenius currently lives and works on a three-year artist's scholarship in the Pro Artibus Foundation's Villa Snäcksund in Ekenäs.
