Karl Blossfeldt - Art Forms in nature, London. A. Zwemmer, 1929.
First edition. A masterpiece of nature photography and one of the great and most influential photograph books ever to have been published.
Blossfeldt was training as a botanist; his use of extreme close-up technique began as part of his study. However he swiftly developed a fully fledged abstracted aesthetic which found a ready audience around the world. Many subsequent photographers cite his books as a key influence on their work.
